Multimedia Project Development

  Today we had looked at Multimedia Project Development. We looked at general principals for user interface design which are called "heuristics" because they are more in the nature of rules of thumb than specific usability guidelines We looked at ten of them and then had to look at a On-line Application which was Hotmail.com and we had to write about its heuristics. These where the headings that we used for this assignment. When we went onto the application we looked for the appropriate information and design features to match the headings.

 

 

Evaluation of Hotmail Application

Hotmail is an online application that can be used worldwide to send people messages, pictures, links and music. Many people use it because it is efficient, reliable and easy to use.

The design features on this application where very user friendly and very easy to understand as the English was simple and plain which made browsing and finding items quite easy and efficient. It also saved time as you weren't looking around the homepage and the inbox for tabs to click on.

The emails where easy to handy too as they where categorised and you could make folders to store different emails in and this was done automatically so you didn't waste time dragging and copying into the folders.

Advertisement was also cut very short which was a plus as it didn't put a strain on your eyes and enabled you to stay on the application a lot longer. As you can see this makes Hotmail very user friendly to people of all ages.

 

 

I have had to summarise the assignment for the blog as it would have been too long to read and this is only a shortened version.

 

 

 

 

 

Video creation

Today on the 17/11/2011 we had to get a song from youtube and make our own video to the muis using a comptemplation of pictures we found on the internet. It wasn't easy but at the same time it wasn't hard to do it was more time consuming. It was fun and a great experience as I have learned how to make my own videos on the computer which will come in handy.

New Day

Not feeling good...Sore back, a cold and a cough...Not a good day!!!!!

Start of class

Just started a new day in my Multimedia class.....Got last weeks work back and turns out I got most of the word matching correct   :)   But this is only the start of the day...I'll keep you posted.
